We organized the opening meeting of the project on 11-12 January 2024 with the project coordinators who came to Sorgun within the scope of our project titled "Sport for Healthy Life Sport4HealthyLife" within the scope of our project titled "Sport for Healthy Life Sport4HealthyLife", which we carry out within the scope of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) supported by the European Commission Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), which is coordinated by Sorgun Youth Association and carried out in partnership with Macedonia, Jordan, Italy and Greece.
On the first day of the meeting, SORGED Chairman and Project Coordinator Halil UĞUZ opened the meeting. A short acquaintance program was organized with the participants from each country. Then a presentation was made in order for the institutions to get to know each other more closely.
After the brief summary of the project, its objectives and activities, the activities to be carried out in the 12-month period of the project were discussed. The management methodology and coordination of the project were discussed with the participants. An internal partnership agreement including the duties and responsibilities of the coordinating organization and all partners was prepared and signed.
Turkey, Macedonia, Jordan, Italy, Greece, Macedonia, Jordan, Italy, Greece countries between the ages of 18-30 in 5 different teams of 80 young volunteers came to our district for 40 days and the activities to be organized on sports, healthy nutrition, environment and cancer were detailed and visits to stakeholder institutions were organized.
On the second day of the meeting, we visited our Sorgun District Governor Mr. İhsan Emre Aydın in his office and gave information about our project. Our District Governor stated that he would be happy to host the volunteers who will come to our district within the scope of the project and that they are ready to provide all kinds of support.
Sorgun Youth Center was visited and the courses that the volunteers who will come to our district within the scope of the project can attend in the Youth Center and the volunteering activities they can do were discussed.
We visited Yozgat Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Özdemir and gave information about the project. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa ÖZDEMİR shared information about Yozgat Vocational School departments / programs and Applied Education, 3 + 1 Education model and Tübitak projects implemented in Vocational School. Vocational School lecturers and students exchanged ideas about the implementation of central projects in Erasmus + and European Solidarity Programs. Our Vocational School Director stated that they will be happy to host the volunteers who will come to our city within the scope of the project and that they are ready to provide all kinds of support. After the visit, the end-of-semester exhibition of the Interior and Graphic Design students of the Department of Design was visited.
Çapanoğlu Mosque and Hayri İnal Mansion were visited. At Hayri Ünal Mansion, kavurga and menengiç coffee, one of the local flavors, were served. Local dances of Yozgat were played and folk songs were sung.
At the end of the meeting, SORGED Chairman and Project Coordinator Halil UĞUZ ended the meeting by thanking all partners and participants for their participation and cooperation.
